Artist's Comments

This tutorial was created because of quite a few requests on my recent realistic digital artwork. You'll need to know a few things about this tutorial before you read it.

This tutorial was made with Photoshop 7, but I think that it could be used for other programs(or earlier versions) as well.
I made this tutorial with a tablet, but the same technique can be used with a mouse, although it is a bit more time consuming. I created this with a mouse (Proof that you can use a mouse for the same effect). I used the same picture as reference as that link to this tutorial, since he has nice eyes.
This was created all on one layer, but it could be easily placed onto various layers (Maybe one layer per step?).
I didn't take as long as I should have on the examples, but it'll work.

Wow. Great tutorial. Very realistic eye. Much more than I've been able to do to date. I was surprised that you didn't use the dodge and burn tools. Some of it looks a lot like what I finish with.
Sweet. I may use this in the future! thnx :D

Comment if you like my work! :batty:
Damn. Nice. I'm a PS newbie, so this really me helps a lot. Very nice eye. I dunno really whether you want me to comment on the art itself or on the design. For design of the tutorial, I think that you might want to choose an easier font to read. (This also makes it more professional-lookin'.) Your third step is missing a few words. (I think.) And numbering your steps might be a lil nice. It's all excuseable of course, cuz you've rushed a lil. But yeah. Oh, and maybe you'd like to consider making your text darker, just so it contrasts your examples.

As for the art itself...it's quite faultless. I just might lower the brightness of the white at the lower eyelid, because highlight doesn't seem to really stand out there quite so much. But it's well done, and as of again, it prolly helped me more than this comment would help you. Thanks!
very nicee :D

Great tutorial! I've only recently started practicing with realistic cg and I think pointing out the shininess in the eyes is important so they don't fall flat. Eyes are such a focal point to a pic.

Thanks much. I was really rushing, but now that I have time, I can make it look a little better. ^_^;
